ABOUT JENNIE

Jennie Danfors Furman grew up in Sweden where she earned a degree in Preventive Health and Corporate Fitness. In her mid twenties she moved to Colorado to work in the ski and outdoor industry.  She met her husband Steven while working at the Colorado Outward Bound School. Together they share a love for adventure and outdoor activities, and have traveled extensively to remote and culturally rich areas around the world.

In her late thirties Jennie became a mom.  Raising Annika, Jennie noticed how little parents new about what foods were good for their children and families. She decided to go back to school to get a masters degree in holistic nutrition.

After earning her masters degree, Jennie developed a unique and highly recognized cooking arts program at a public charter school, where for six years she taught children grades 1-8, how to cook full meals with natural whole ingredients.

Jennie started Pause to Eat because she believes health is closely linked to lifestyle and habits. She wants people to understand that small changes can have a very positive impact on a person’s overall health, and that eating healthy can be enjoyable.

Jennie has a passion for the arts and interior design.  She enjoys backcountry skiing, hiking, biking and whitewater rafting with her family and friends.
